    Yeah, I know, sign me up for ToME Characters Anonymous already… :-} Settled on this combo during a slow moment at work; this is the home-game version. Basically a barehanded possessor, which gives me the freedom to switch to a non-humanoid body if a nice one presents itself (my other possessors to date have depended on Weaponmastery and were thus constrained to humanoid bodies). I also decided to eschew scumming the swamp south of Bree for a Lizard king corpse (or the mountains for a dragon corpse), instead scoring a Novice rogue corpse out of the Thieves quest and building up from there.

    Swept Orc Cave. First non-humanoid body for this run. Was hoping for Azog, but he didn't put out… :-\

    Swept Mirkwood. Back to a humanoid body for now; Mim was just too good to pass up. Gonna try for the Minotaur next (and hope I have better luck on that front than poor Kazyx did…).

    Pushed through to the midpoint of Moria, then did the Éol quest, hoping for a body upgrade. Score! ;) I think this'll cover me for a while…

    Shadowfax for the win! ;) And I've even got Durin's Bane as a backup if Shadowfax doesn't work out. (Which isn't to say I don't miss Éol; his attack spells weren't much use against anything tougher than popcorn monsters, but his targeted teleport spell was quite useful.) Anyway, that's Moria done; I haven't decided between Mordor or Land of Mountains next. Maybe I should go try to score Trone's body… >;)

    Decided to to Mordor next; this is through the midpoint. So far Shadowfax's body is working out fairly well, though having to bash doors open is vaguely annoying.

    Finished Mordor. Back to another humanoid body; the Brown Thunderlord was just too good to pass up (hmm, maybe this is where Kazyx should be looking for an upgrade…). Got my skills mostly topped off, so it's just equipment and body upgrades to improve from this point. On that note, I might try for Trone in LoM next, though I did just get Flare and I've got the Maeglin quest burning a proverbial hole in my pocket…

    Yeah, okay, Trone doesn't drop a corpse, silly me… :-} He did at least summon a Gold Thunderlord for me to upgrade to, and his coat let me swap out my fire-immunity shield for an acid-immunity shield I'd been saving, so I now have all four immunities covered. And the extra speed is always good; currently my second fastest non-wizard character after my Wolf-Pelt-using Mimic. Time to visit the Necromancer, methinks.
